Meet The Team
Susan Morris
Art Therapist
Susan Morris is a dedicated and experienced art therapist with a profound passion for promoting wellbeing through artistic expression. With over 30 years of experience across Health, Education, and Social Care sectors, she specialises in delivering tailored individual and group interventions that address complex social, emotional, and mental health needs.
Susan’s journey into art therapy was driven by her keen interest in recognising the potential of art and the art-making process to enable individuals, groups, and communities to express and connect within the therapeutic process. This led her to pursue a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from the University of Hertfordshire.
Susan employs a clinical and compassion-focused approach to art therapy, grounded in the Psychobiosocial cultural model and integrating insights from neuroscience and trauma-informed care. She has a special interest in promoting social and educational inclusion, working with issues such as emotion-based school anxiety, domestic abuse, addiction, and displacement, with children, adults, and marginalised communities.
As a creative person, Susan has a passion for nature and the outdoors and consistently looks for ways to combine these elements in her own artwork as well as in therapy. She often works with the encaustic medium, an ancient technique involving hot beeswax, damar resin, and pigments, to create layered, textured artworks.
Susan is a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). Her extensive background in safeguarding, social policy, and therapeutic interventions, combined with her experience and creativity, enhances her effectiveness in delivering art therapy.
